It is lot of talk about the kill of an strong beatiful male lion Cecil. And the hate towards Walter Palmer. 
I see it differently. This was an strong male lion who got a lot of female to carry his cubs. I've been in Keneya and Tanzania national parks and my father was a hunter and me and my brother asked him if he would hunt any of this animals. He sad the reason they are in an zoo with electric wire around it is because this animals are few and almoust distinct so no. 
He was almoust manic of taking photos of different kind of animals lion,gepard,elephants and so on. He sad dangerous animal like lions and elphants are best watching from an distance cause then one sees their natural behavior. 

So if hunter pay 500 000 us dollar to kill an strong male lion that reduces chances for strong cubs to survive in the african wilderness. But hinters also reduces park staff livelyhood. Wich means thoes countries who have hunters going to this parks and kill an distinct animal have also to be ready to recive former park staff when they animals are distinct and they dont have any work.
And this trophy hunter are easy to track they in the one minded glory euforia take photos and usually take an trophy of the killed animal to their homes.
